Pumpkinville

September was an unseasonably cool month with a few days' high temps only reaching into the 50's. I had given up on Summer and taken almost all of the boys' shorts out of their closets. Then October rolled around and in the first week of the new month, we had temps in the high 80's and even low 90's! On Saturday, Oct. 5th, we took the boys to their favorite Fall event, "Pumpkinville," at the Leesburg Animal Park. They wanted to wear their Halloween shirts so I rolled their sleeves up.  We got really hot and sweaty out there, and I forgot to bring sunscreen, but the boys had a great time.

                                                                A four-horned beast!

This little dog did tricks with frisbees.

Showing off their tongues after eating a red, white and blue Spider Man popsicle.

 The Kings of Pumpkinville!

A very rough and bumpy (but non-crowded) hayride.

I didn't realize until later that I had accidentally switched out of the Auto-Mode on my camera but the black & white shots of the dinosaur statues along our hay ride turned out kind of cool.

Hot, Sweaty Mooses On A Tractor!

 Bouncy Slide!

The boys seemed to love this slide more than anything else at the park and they asked to go back to it again towards the end of our day. Unfortunately, Dylan (who had refused our invitations to go potty all day), had a major pants-wetting accident at the top of the slide and started crying and refused to come down. Tom had to go up and get him and slide down with him. It was pretty funny watching Tom come down with his arms outstretched, holding Dylan off to the side to try to avoid getting his own clothes wet. I hurried him off to the car to change his clothes and we all went home after that. So Dylan left his mark on Pumpkinville and shut the whole slide down for who-knows-how-long while the park attendants cleaned up the mess (poor guys!)  That little incident aside, it was a great day at Pumpkinville!

September Pix

Somebody found a binky in my "baby box" and wanted to try it out, for old times.

I love it when they actually enjoy playing with each other and don't fight!

The Birthday Boy hugging his new "babies."

Is he dressed as a tiger, or as a little boy who has been swallowed by a tiger? Not completely sure, but he really loves this costume!!

 Bug Hunt!

Poor baby got strep during the 4th week of Kindergarten and had to miss 2 days of school.

Looks like Evan had a growth spurt over the summer. His size 4 jeans still fit great in the waist but show off his socks when he walks! Time for size 5's with adjustable waist bands!!

Balloon Swords at a birthday party!
Sad Sack because his balloon sword popped!  He was given another one after this picture was taken, though.

 Color Accent = "Green"

 Color Accent = "Blue"

 Color Accent = "Red"

There was one patch of leaves on this tree that had turned red while the rest of them were still green. I love this picture!

Why does it take a photograph for me to realize how badly my boys need haircuts??  :)

A turtle I found on one of my walks. It had a really cool design on its shell!
