Coziest Spot In The House

Can you find the two which aren't stuffed with poly fiber fill?

Mama's Little Iron Men

Evan picked out this super cool Iron Man costume for Halloween and when Dylan saw him modeling it, he wanted to wear a costume, too. So we got out Evan's old toddler-sized Iron Man suit, and except for being a little too long, it fit Dylan really well. They were both so cute running around shouting "I'm Iron Man!"

Happy Anniversary To Us!

Hard to believe that ELEVEN YEARS have gone by since Tom and I said "I Do" on Sept. 8, 2001, but it's true! It's been a wonderful adventure so far, made much more "adventuresome" with the arrival of our rambunctious boys, Evan & Dylan, and our naughty but adorable cats, Dougal & Fergus. I love our little family unit so much and wouldn't change a thing!!

Fun Afternoon

Since I had to take Dylan to the doctor today and knew that those check-ups tend to be lengthy, I took the whole day off from work to spend it with my little guy. It was really hot and humid today so after the appointment, we went to the mall to play in their air conditioning. Dylan got his favorite Chick-Fil-A meal for lunch, then got to ride the train and the carousel and got to play at the indoor playground. (There were only 8 other kids in there with us at the time, so that was AWESOME!)

He always loves the train ride but I wasn't sure how he would be on the carousel since he was terrified of it a few months ago. We tried it again today and at first he really seemed to like it. But then half way through the ride, he suddenly got nervous and threw his arm around my neck and pressed the side of his face into my cheek as hard as he could. I didn't want to move out of that position since it seemed to comfort him so I had to bend my knees every time the horse moved down.  Ha! I was really glad when the ride was over, but it was awfully sweet to have him cling to me like that.

He was hilarious in the play pit. He kept jumping off of play structures which were only about a foot off the floor but when he landed, he'd throw his arms up and let out this loud, guttural scream like he'd just completed an Olympic- worthy jump.

In the Old Navy store, he entertained himself (and me) by repeatedly counting the shirts that were hanging on the wall. He kept skipping over certain numbers and repeating others (he was really fond of "17" and "18" for some reason), but since I didn't realize he knew any numbers above 10, I was really impressed. It was a great day with my little cutie pie (and his beloved stuffed giraffe, "Raf," who went along for the ride all day).

Dylan's Two Year Stats

Dylan had his Two Year Check Up at his pediatrician's office today. He now weighs 30 lbs. 3 ounces and is now 34 and 1/2 inches tall. Since his 18 Month Check Up in March, he's gained over 4 pounds and grown over 2 inches taller. (His shoe size also went up from a 5 1/2 Extra Wide to a 7 Wide since the Spring.) The doctor said he looked great. She asked if he could put 2 or 3 word phrases together and then she heard him say "Mama, I want some more crackers, please" and her mouth practically dropped to the floor! :) I thought he was going to have to get shots today but all he ended up needing was a flu mist. I opted for the mist instead of the shot and that turned out to be an excellent decision. No tears, no drama. Dylan just kind of wrinkled up his nose for a second afterwards and then seemed to forget all about it. Hooray for medical progress!

Happy Birthday, Dylan!!

It's hard to believe that my baby boy is now TWO years old today! He's growing up so fast!! He was born a tiny, sweet, adorable little 6 pound, 10 ounce bundle of joy and is now a 30-something pound boulder of feistiness and attitude! Still adorable, though!

Dylan's Birthday Party

Dylan turns 2 tomorrow (September 5th) but we had his birthday party at his Maryland Grandparents' house on Sunday. He had a blast running around in Grammy and Pappy's huge yard and playing with his cousins and Aunt Becky's dog George. It was a fun party!
