In January, I left my job of nearly 14 years to start a new adventure as a work-from-homer. My new company is located in New Jersey so I had to drive up there and stay a week for training (from Sunday to Friday). It was hard to go as I'd never left my boys for that long before. They were really sweet and picked out some of their favorite "babies" to keep me company on the road.
These guys weren't the best conversationalists but it was kind of comforting to see them in the passenger seat on my long drive!
Had to drive four + hours through rain, fog, some flooding on I-95 and a wintry mix before I finally made it to my hotel in Ewing, New Jersey. The babies and I were so happy to get to crash on the bed for awhile!
The training went well and all the people I met at the new company were really nice. Finally the week ended and I got to come home. I left early Friday morning, got stuck in rush hour in Philadelphia, but then had smooth sailing after that. I surprised Dylan at his preschool and took him to lunch. He was SO HAPPY to see Mommy again!
And here's my new home office set up...on the dining room table.
I invested in an ergonomically designed office chair because sitting for 8 hours in a rickety dining chair was not going to cut it. Love my new chair!
