We had another unseasonably warm and beautiful day last Saturday so I decided to give the picnic and park idea another try, even though it had been a bit of a disaster back in October. This time went MUCH better, though. I remembered to bring the blanket this time and I parked near the playground so we could sit and eat and then walk straight over to the play area. The kids got along much better this time and they even held hands as they walked together from the car! (This made for a great photo op for Paparazzo Mama!)

"Barnyard Dance"
One of Dylan's favorite books is "Barnyard Dance" by Sandra Boynton. I always read it to him in a steady rhythm as if I were calling out a Square Dance. It goes "Stomp your feet! Clap your hands! Everybody ready for a Barnyard Dance! Bow to the horse. Bow to the cow. Twirl with the pig if you know how..."
Here's Dylan "reading" the book to himself. He says "Dance to the cow. Dance to the pig. Dance to the chicks. Dance to the bunny..." I was impressed that he kept the same rhythm that I use, and he got all the animals right. What a smart boy!!
