Fun Afternoon

Since I had to take Dylan to the doctor today and knew that those check-ups tend to be lengthy, I took the whole day off from work to spend it with my little guy. It was really hot and humid today so after the appointment, we went to the mall to play in their air conditioning. Dylan got his favorite Chick-Fil-A meal for lunch, then got to ride the train and the carousel and got to play at the indoor playground. (There were only 8 other kids in there with us at the time, so that was AWESOME!)

He always loves the train ride but I wasn't sure how he would be on the carousel since he was terrified of it a few months ago. We tried it again today and at first he really seemed to like it. But then half way through the ride, he suddenly got nervous and threw his arm around my neck and pressed the side of his face into my cheek as hard as he could. I didn't want to move out of that position since it seemed to comfort him so I had to bend my knees every time the horse moved down.  Ha! I was really glad when the ride was over, but it was awfully sweet to have him cling to me like that.

He was hilarious in the play pit. He kept jumping off of play structures which were only about a foot off the floor but when he landed, he'd throw his arms up and let out this loud, guttural scream like he'd just completed an Olympic- worthy jump.

In the Old Navy store, he entertained himself (and me) by repeatedly counting the shirts that were hanging on the wall. He kept skipping over certain numbers and repeating others (he was really fond of "17" and "18" for some reason), but since I didn't realize he knew any numbers above 10, I was really impressed. It was a great day with my little cutie pie (and his beloved stuffed giraffe, "Raf," who went along for the ride all day).
