Nana & Pappy's Visit

On Saturday June 22nd, Tom had to leave for his annual, much-dreaded, week-long business trip to Kansas City, MO.  My Mom & Dad arrived the night before to ensure that my reinforcements to help with the boys were firmly in place before Tom's departure. The boys were so excited to see their Grandparents again and spent most of Friday night running around the living room shouting.

On Sunday, we went to Red Robin for a combined Mother's Day/Father's Day Lunch, my treat. The boys were much better behaved than I was expecting, as the last few family trips to restaurants haven't been extremely pleasant experiences.

Dylan was excited to sit in a 'Big Boy Booster Seat' after we discovered that he no longer fit in a standard high chair!

Pappy gave them money to play a video driving game and they LOVED it, as you can tell by their expressions!

My Mom watched the boys a lot for me during the week, which was a HUGE help, especially when I needed to do some secret birthday shopping for a certain about-to-turn-FIVE little boy. (And I managed to sneak in a little shopping-for-self while I was at it, too.) :)

One night, while I was busily cleaning out our train-wreck of a garage, Nana was upstairs joining the boys in an "animal birthday party." Apparently, every stuffed animal in our house was invited (we're talking DOZENS of them) and they all showed up! This is the scene I walked in on...

Evan decided he wanted to go with a Pirate theme for his birthday party, and here's a picture of Pappy getting into the spirit of things.
