A Day Off

The boys' preschool was closed on Friday for "Teachers'Workday" so I took the day off from work and got to play Stay-At-Home-Mom for the day. The boys woke up wild and the house was completely trashed by 9:30 a.m. I had to get out of there so I took them to the Sports Bounce place where we had Evan's birthday party. They have an 'Open Bounce' session for kids 5 and under on weekday mornings where they can jump and run wild and use up some of that crazy energy. They had a great time and my friend Ashley brought her two kids, Claire and Lucas, over too. Then we all went together to a nearby Chick-Fil-A for lunch. Dylan fell asleep in the car on the way home and I moved him to his bed and he continued to nap for 2 and 1/2 hours. Evan didn't want to nap so he watched one of his videos. He still seemed completely fine at the time, and when Dylan woke up, Evan asked if we could go to the tennis court to play. They were both running around out there but after about a half hour, Evan started to act a bit mopey. I asked him what was wrong and he said he was sad and wanted to see his Dad. Tom got home soon after that and then we discovered that Evan was running a fever of 101.3. Later that evening it got over 102 and he was very lethargic and went right to sleep at 8:00. How quickly things can change with little ones!!
