Oh Christmas Tree!

I actually put my tree up on the last day of November this year, which is way early for me. The kids have been talking about Christmas since about mid-August, so I kind of got into the spirit of things a little early this year. Evan insisted on putting the star on top before I got any of the lights on so Tom held him up and let him do the honors. After discovering that I had six, 6, SIX!! strands of lights completely out, I went to Target at got 6 new replacement strands...only to get home and discover that I'd bought ones with white cords whereas all of my old ones had green cords. Argh!!! So, unwilling to go back and face Target's madhouse again, I went up to our neighborhood Walgreens and found some with green cords that weren't exactly like the old ones but close enough.

 

 After I got the lights and bead strands on, I took a break from decorating and went into the kitchen to start dinner. I heard the boys in the living room but didn't know what they were doing. When I came back in the room, I found that they'd done some decorating of their own, using their "Christmas babies" in lieu of ornaments. It was pretty adorable!
