The Beach - Day One

Evan has been ready to go back to the beach ever since we returned from Ocean City, Maryland in August 2013.  This year we decided to go a little earlier in the summer and to stay one night longer and planned a trip for July 14-17th.

Since Evan showed signs of carsickness on the last couple of road trips we took, I bought some Children's Dramamine in preparation for this trip. When Dylan heard about the grape flavored tablets that Evan was going to chew before getting in the car, he wanted some too. I figured it couldn't hurt. Evan got two tablets due to his age but Dylan could only have one. He wasn't happy about this, of course, but the end result seemed to be the same for both kids. They were both knocked out within about 30 minutes after we got on the road!

They both slept through the Bay Bridge crossing, which they'd gotten a big kick out of last year.

We made it!

We took a stroll on the boardwalk while we waited for our hotel room to be ready.

First evening's agenda: Putt Putt, pizza and walking on the beach:

A lone seagull, or "eagle", as the kids kept calling them.

 Dancing on the retaining wall!
